B'nai Torah Brotherhood
“The sooner you get involved, the sooner you will feel at home.”

Frequently asked questions about the Brotherhood:

Who are the members of the brotherhood?
We are a diverse group of men that just like to get together and be somewhat involved. Many of our members are new to the temple, while others have been around for several years. Everyone is welcome!

What is the term of membership?
Our membership terms start in October.

How often do you meet and what do you do at the meetings?
We meet about once per month from September through May. Meetings are held on weekday evenings at the temple or Sunday mornings for breakfast at Rossini’s. We discuss a written agenda with our latest topics, coordinate on activity progress and make plans for the future. Emphasis is always on having a good time and sharing a lot of laughs!

If I join what will I be expected to do?
That is up to you. You will have the opportunity to play a leadership role either as an officer or a committee head or you could take more of a backseat role and simply help with any activities of your choice. All meetings are voluntarily attended. Some members do a lot, some do very little and some are in between. But, no matter what your level of participation is, we promise to appreciate it. If you have a busy schedule and can’t be sure when you can participate we still invite you to join the brotherhood. We NEVER pressure anyone to do more than they can handle.

What does it cost to join?
The annual dues for the Brotherhood are $36, which is chai x 2. (Chai is the Hebrew word for life, corresponding to the number 18.) The money will go towards activities, donations to the temple and tzedakah.

How do I join?
You can send your check for $36 to to B’nai Torah P.O. BOX 273, Sudbury, MA 01776. Feel free to contact Peter Goodman if you have any questions. Send an email to bt_brotherhood@goodmanonline.com or call 978-440-8871. All members are welcome to join right away or you can sit in on a few meetings first if you like.

Thanks!
